Licensed Hull Forms

Bladerunner is an "Air Entrapment Monohull" or AEM. Pioneered by ICE Marine, the AEM differs radically from a conventional monohull in its dramatic twin tunnels that flare out from either side of the extremely slender twin stepped hull, finishing with sharp knife-like sponsons at the sides. This unique combination gives the Bladerunner exceptional aerodynamic lift, improving performance and significantly softening the ride over conventional monohulls by compressing the air inside the tunnels to add a cushioning effect. Another advantage is that the center of lift is located much further aft than would be the case in a comparable high performance catamaran, providing a safer and more level ride in rough seas. The result is a hull form capable of very high speeds (up to 88 knots) in a seaway that also delivers more predictable, safe handling/maneuvering at high speeds; stable airborne flight with safe re-entry; and significant stability at zero and low speeds. Navatek is the exclusive U.S. licensee for Bladerunners in the 45-foot to 55-foot range.
