Performance Computing

In June, 2003,
Navatek acquired a 128 processor Linux cluster for
use in its research and development on ship hull designs and underwater lifting bodies. This cluster, nicknamed Neptune (the Roman god of the sea), is used primarily for running Computational
Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software applications as USAERO, LAMP, and CFX. In 2007 Navatek added a second Linux cluster nicknamed Poseidon (the Greek god of the sea). Poseidon and its 36 processors has more than doubled the computing power at Navatek's research and development office.
